1 dress, 2 looks

Zoe Kravitz and Eva Longoria wore the same dress by Matthew Williamson, but achieved two totally different looks. Zoe Kravitz gave it a twist by wearing a dazzling colorful jacket, orange clutch, and sandals. I love her look! The jacket is amazing! Eva Longoria went for a more classic look with gold Louboutin shoes. Coral and orange are some of the hot colors this summer. The coral color is also seen in Pucci's SS09 collection and pre-collection SS09. Who pulled off the best look?

Coral top/dress

When I woke up this morning before going to work, the weather was cold and grey. Really wanting to wear my new top, I took on a pair of jeans and a cardigan. However a few hours after the sun was shining and I was feeling HOT. So off the jeans and cardigan went and my top became a dress.

Stella McCartney ss09

In 2001, Stella McCartney launched her own fashion house under her name in a joint venture with Gucci Group and showed her first collection in Paris in October 2001. A lifelong vegetarian, Stella McCartney does not use any leather or fur in her designs. Her collections include women’s ready-to-wear, accessories, eyewear, fragrance and organic skincare. Her perfume, “Stella”, launched successfully in September 2003. Stella McCartney operates 11 stores, including flagships in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District, London’s Mayfair, LA’s West Hollywood and Paris’ Palais Royal, and recently opened doors in Shanghai, Beijing, Bahrain, Bangalore, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Kuwait. Her collections are now distributed in over 50 countries through 600 wholesale accounts including specialty shops and department stores (quote stellamccartney.com).
I'm a big fan of Stella McCartney's designs. Her clothes is always so feminine and dreamy. Here are some pieces I would like to get my hands on this summer:

Summer bliss

I got so inspired reading my friend and fellow blogger Trinsch's small stories from her life that come to live through her lovely photos. When reading her stories and looking at her pics, there is only one way my mood can go and that's up.

The summer is showing its face here in Denmark. Everything blossoms and comes alive. When waiting for my mom outside the local mall, an elder woman looked at me smiling and said "Isn't the weather fantastic?! You can't be anything but happy in this weather." I have to agree with her. Laid-back rock fashionista

”Laid-back rock fashionista” is how the two designers, Sanne Sehested Nielsen and Lene Boesen, behind the Danish Label Gestuz, describe the girl who would wear their clothes. The design is a femininity which extends from punk-rock mama Patti Smith to the all time glamorous Marilyn Monroe. They've succeeded in creating a balance between quality and price. The designs don't over thrill me- nothing new. But the clothes look a lot like the clothes I'm wearing on a regular day. Simple but not borring.

My new belt

I found a lovely shop in Rome with handmade leather stuff. The owner, a guy, makes everything himself. I bought this costum made wrap-around belt with a flower and buckle for 25 euro. It's possible to take the flower off. Mmm... love the smell of real leather.

Bangles

Whether they are small or huge statement pieces, you should invest in some bangles this summer. Some of my own faves are the big vintage from Liberty, heavy metal male-like from Dior, braided leather bangles and my newest from Rome in bone and mother of pearl.

Balmain's spangles and spikes

Spangles can always upgrade your every-day casual look to a party look. Put the glossy spangles together with some less shiny items, such as jeans and sneakers to get a more relaxed look. Put the spangles together with a clutch and some high heels and you are ready to party. Balmain knows how to match the spangles with some less shiny stuff. Take a look at how the jacket is mixed with some "old" jeans and a simple black shirt. Would also look great with an oversize tank top.

Take a look at this black Balmain dress with metal spikes/perls/stones. To get a less festive, but still chik look, change the high heels with some boots or leather gladiator/amazon-sandals, heavy metal bangles or a leather or jeans jacket.

Cat Power!

One to keep an eye on is the American indie singer/songwriter Chan Marshall aka. Cat Power. She has been the face of Chanel's jewellery line, played Jude Law's girlfriend in My Blueberry Nights and is now the face/body of Levi's S/S collection. The collection is inspired by the 70'ies and rockchik-attitude. It's easy to see why Levi's has chosen Cat Power as the face of the collection. She has a unique and individual style with a rock'n'roll edge. As Lagerfeld puts it "J'adore Cat Power"

Natalia Brilli

To give your feminin outfit an edge, mix it with masculin or rough elements. Natalia Brilli makes som really cool leather accessories. She has among other things been working with black python. The necklace below is one of my fav.

Hey! Back from Rome with new inspiration. I took this pic at Hermès's of an ancient greek inspired dress. Love the color (great when I get my tan) and drapes. Check the leather belt with buckles.

Forrest and Bob

I'm going to Rome next Monday and have to be fully updated on the fashion front. So I went shopping! While I was trying some clothes out my eyes suddenly saw something. And there in the middle of the shop were the coolest, big and gray sunglasses from Forrest and Bob. The name was new to me so I went home and googled it (what would we do without Google?) and it turns out to be a new Danish brand. The former Danish top model Vibe Sørensen is the founder and designer. They have some really cool accessories worth checking out. The main ingredient in the collection is the use of quality leather and elegant shapes. "If a girl can't yield to the suggestion of diamonds as her best friend, then Forrest and Bob is likely to be the next preferred option."- Forrest and Bob.
