E.L.F Lipstick

I've got three elf lipsticks: Posh, Classy and Gypsy. They are from the cheaper line, not that any of elf's products aren't cheap. You get 3,5g for £1,50.

The packaging looks very cheap. It looks too plastic and I'm not a fan of the see through plastic that contains the actual lipstick. I don't like that I can see it smudging inside.

The lipstick itself is great. The product has a high pigmentation. Especially the dark red Posh. I still have traces of red on my arm from yesterday after taking soem shots of it. The lipstick feels soft on the lips. But it's not as soft when applying. They are all sheer, but not lipgloss-like.

The product stays on a long time. First day I tried the pink Gypsy it lasted more than three hours on my lips. I showered and had something small snackish to eat- no drinks. The second day it lasted me two hours as I had a big dinner and drank water. It is not kiss proof. The boyf had it all over his face after testing :-)

The website says it doesn't have a smell. Well, even perfume free products have a smell and I never like those non-smell smells. It smells kind of cheap. Like the makeup you can buy in toy stores for children.

Conclusion: BUY IT. But don't pull it out of your purse when in fancy surroundings ;-)

Make your foundation last longer

If you want to make your foundation last longer you have to remember: oil and water don't mix! Have you tried to mix oil with water in a glass? It's not possible. So...

Water based primer or facial creme goes with water based foundation.

Oil based primer or facial creme goes with oil based foundation.

Don't build up a lot of products. Use a primer or a facial creme before applying your foundation. If you have super dry skin, like me, you can use more products.

If you want to, you can use a translucent powder to set the foundation. But wait a few minutes before you add it. People with oily skin will benefit from this.

No no no! I just spent 1,5 hours on shopping on Victoria's Secret's online store. I was sooo excited as 1. i only know one place in Tel Aviv that once in a while have some borring makeup from VS. 2. that the body mists are so much cheaper online than here. 3. they have great discounts at the moment.

After choosing country and giving all other info's the website says it doesn't ship the items to the shipping address. I tried with both Israel and Denmark without luck. I don't understand why. I did some reseach a couple of months ago and I read about people from Denmark who bought bikinis from VS online. So why can't I? Maybe my things are too heavy? e.l.f. nail polish in Lilac

I bought a lot of e.l.f products last month as they had 20 % off twice (which they have more or less all the time). Some of their products are really good and others are less. One of the less good products turned out to be their nail polish. It took me a while before I wanted to purchase an e.l.f. nail polish as the results I got from my "research" weren't good. Then a few weeks ago they sent me a newsletter with a new nail polish color, Lilac, and the colour just looked so summerish that I had to try it.

Today I got the stuff I bought. I know you can't trust the pictures online. But I still end up a bit disappointed when the colors don't match the pictures. Lilac is a creamy cool purple toned nail polish on e.l.f.'s website. But in real life it's more of a smokey purple in the bottle.

The texture is very watery. Everytime I open the bottle nail varnish runs down the bottle like a vulcano. How come?? As I said it's very watery, so no clumbs. But It also means that you get strikes and you have to apply minimum three layers. I would probably go for four. I applied three layers except on two fingers where I applied two layers just to see the difference.

I don't know if it is long lasting as it claims as I've only applied it today. But even if it is I wont buy it again. Even with three coats I can still see my nails through. If you wanna spend time applying 4+ coats so give it a try. I know it's cheap but you can find cheap brands that are much more pigmented.

I would recommend this nail polish for people who don't feel comfortable wearing nail polish as it only gives a very limited amount of color.

I also have a nail polish in Gum Pink. I really hope it's going to surprise me cause the color looks so yummi in the bottle.

NB! I tried with 4 coats after I wrote this post. 4 coats of this polish is perfect and it does seem to last longer than the Gum Pink.

Clubbing with Orlando Bloom

Yesterday I went to a pretty new place in Copenhagen named Simons (Simon's). It's the hot spot for the rich, famous and beautiful. Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark has been partying there two nights in a row this week celebrating his twins' baptism. My friend told me Orlando Bloom had been there this week or last week. So... I had to go there. And who did I meet? Mr. Bloom - without Miranda. He looks great in real life but I was surprised to see how short he actually is. The last time I saw him he came dragging with a blonde girl who looked more or less wasted. He seemed pretty down to earth. He ownly had a few people around him and non of them looked very bodyguard like.

Simons is a trendy place that you must visit if you are in Copenhagen. It costs 100 kr to get it, which I think is too much. Anyway, I guess it's to make it more exclusive. You shouldn't be there earlier than midnight as the place will be more or less dead.

They only have 8 cocktails on the menu (120 kr.) and only two kinds of shots (30 kr.).

You will see a lot of celebs, rich guys in white shirts, navy blue blazers and colourful ties who think they own the world and girls who wants to date them simply because they have money.

In periodes I'm really neglecting this blog. Partly because I have a lot to do in the "real" world (what is the real world today, seems like cyper world is just as real) and partly because I'm using time on my other blog nellysdelhi2 which is in danish and about my life in Israel. If you aren't a danish speaker and might want to take a look you can use google translate or Babylon. If you are interested in what I am writing on this blog, feel free to comment, ask me questions and if you want me to try products just ask me.

And now to what this post is really about eye shadows from WOW Cosmetics. Back in December I got a little crazy with buying products from this company as the prices are very low and I likes the color pay off. However I've come to think about wether WOW Cosmetics tests on animals or not. I will contact them and hope they'll give me an honest answer.

The single eye shadows that are most pigmented are the metallic ones. They have a very soft/smooth texture and are very pigmented. They are worth trying. You'll get full value or the money.

The matt eye shadows really disappointed me. They have a more dry texture and they come on patchy. You really have to pack on the product to get full coverage. They do seem to last as long as the metallic shades i not longer.

The packaging is not the prettiest nor does it look expensive. The printed WOW Cosmetics on the cover easily rubs off. Packaging means a lot to me. Packaging of bad quality spoils my overall picture of a product.

Estée Lauder's DayWear- Advances Multi-Protection anti-Oxidant Creme SPF 15 is the best facial moisturizer for super dry skin I've seen for a looong time. It leaves my skin super smooth and elasctic. The smell is fresh and clean (if that makes sense), kind of cucumberish. The only down side is that it doesn't come cheap.

ELF Mineral Infused Mascara

Elf Mineral Infused Mascara is part of the Studio Line, but is "mineral infused". I am not sure what that means. It only comes in black and non-waterproof, which is fine by me as I only use black non-waterproof mascaras. But for others it might be a problem. It's a long-wearing mascara. The mascara makes the lashes look longer and kind of natural, since you (almost) don't get any clumps, thanks to the silicone bristles, and because it doesn't make them thick. The wand is one of the rubbery, flexible ones and has short bristles. If you are looking for thick lashes, don't buy this mascara. It doesn't give you dramatic eyes. So I would use this one on an everyday basis. The packaging is plain, mat black and looks a lot like MAC's Zoom Lash Mascara. I really like mat black surfaces of make-up brushes, mascaras etc. I love my Chanel products and the simple packaging, but my finger easily leaves prints on the shiny black surface. I am truly happy with TLF's Mineral Infused Mascara and the price is just unbeliveable (£3,50).

ELF Everyday Eyes Kit

I promised to review my E.L.F products (these and these). I'm in Denmark at the moment and forgot to bring all my newly bought stuff. So You'll have to wait with some of the reviews 'till I'm back in Israel in February.

Back in December, I won an "Everyday Eyes" kit in E.L.F's Christmas (gift) Calandar. Today I had time to take a closer look on all the things. The kit includes: False Eye Lashes, Mini defining eye Brush, Brightening Eye liner Duo, Earth & Water Mascara Duo, Wet Gloss Lash & Brow Clear Mascara, Eye Shadow Duo x2, two applicators and a sharpener.

I'm really impressed by the two Eye Shadow Duos. They are very pigmented and they are long lasting. Both of them has a satin finish. One is called Candellight and it's a mother of pearl color and a yellowish color. Both are great as highlighters under the brow or all over the eyelids. The other one is called Bronze and is a dark brown and a bronze color. Great for a brown smokey eyes.

The Brightening Eye liner Duo is a soft eyeliner duo. One end is a shiny bronze. It's great for blue eyes and for a more festive look. The other end is a more matt brown. I use the brown every day as a soft liner on the upper lid. They are easy to blend and smudge. I consider them waterproof though the packaging doesn't say anything about it.

The Falsies come with a small glue. I haven't tried the lashes as I'm terrible when it comes to applying falsies. I can't get the outer part to stay put. Any tips? The lashes are of different lengths which I guess will make them blend easier into your own.

I wont use the bristles. Using the fingers gives you much more color than by applying the shadows with the bristles.

The Wet Gloss Lash & Brow Clear Mascara Eyebrow part is a clear gel that is great at shaping your eyebrows. It wears really well. It doesn't make them stiff, which I think is good. The eyelash part didn't impress me. I didn't see any kind of difference. It's not like a curler or thickener. But if you have natural dark and full lashes and you ar egoing for a more natural look, you might like this.

The Earth & Water Mascara Duo was one big disappointment. The applicators are too small even for one with small eyes and no space between brow and lid. The worst part was that both ends were dry- very dry! One of the ends were turned into stone (see picture). I know I got the kit for free. But I still want to inform ELF about it.

My overall opinion: Very impressed with eye shadows and eye liner. The rest of the kit was more or less useless for me. I don't know if you can by the things seperately in shops as shops in both Denmark and Israel (where I live) don't carry ELF. I couldn't find the products online. The packaging doesn't look expensive. But ELF's prices are veryyy cheap, so you can't complain.

This month you wanna get cosy in oversized jumpers and floor sweeping skirts. Pair the outfit with some wedges and a statement necklace. Keep either lips or eyes in dark colors such as black, plums and browns. Dark eyes, neutral lips, Dark lips, neutral eyes. Go for a messy hairdo. For AW 2010/11 designers such as Marc Jacobs, Dries Van Noten and Micheal Kors paired glamoures maxi skirts with oversized sweaters and beanies for a modern take on the 90's grunge. Though the Olson-twins are wearing maxi skirts and oversized sweaters I wont recommend this look for short people. It would only make you shorter. If you are small on top or bottom wear light colors. Are you big on top or bottom wear dark colors. Light makes bigger, dark makes smaller.

Rimmel Sun Shimmer is an instant tan wash off. Apply a generous layer on body. It's important that you wash your hands immediately after use! I have to use a body scrubb to get it off my hands. I use the Light Matt (not Light Matt with shimmer). It gives the darkest color out of the three products. Don't apply to your face.

Tan-In-A-Can. The product is not for an all over body treatment. Use it on specific areas such as face and neck. It's really easy to use. It's a Danish product.

Dove Summer Glow is a body lotion with a hint of self tanning agents. It gradually builds a light tan. It's important that you apply a generous layer or else you will end up with lines! I let it set for an hour before I put clothes on, just in case. I use Fair to Normal Skin.

Merry christmas everyone! Hope you are enjoying yourselves. I just want to tell you, that I've started recording makeup tutorials in Danish. However, I will be listing the products I use and a how-to guide in english. So far I've done two, one for blue eyes and a new years look. My internet is rather slow at the mo, so It will take a couple of days befor they are online.

I'm not a makeup artist, nor claiming to have great skills. I just love makeup and thougth I'll share some tips with you. If I can, you can :-)

Makeup tips for eyes

I am not a professional makeupartist, I just love makeup. But I stille thought I would share some makeup tips with you.

Blue eyes:

When you choose eyeshadow for blue eyes, it's best to choose colours that will contrast with your natural eye color. Shades of brown, orange, copper, plum, taupe, blacks, charcoal, pink, violet, lilac, silver or gold would be the best choice for blue eyes and will help blue eyes appear even bluer. Blue shades wont enhance the beauty of your blue eyes, unless it is super dark blue.

Green eyes:

Again contrast is good to keep in mind. Plum is really good, deep purple, mauve, pink, dark gray, charcoals, all shades of brown, black. Greens are not the best choice, if you wanna bring out the green eye colour.

Brown eyes:

Deep shades of blue, plum, gold, vanilla, shades of purple and violet, nutmeg would be the best choice for brown eyes. Metalic in gold, bronze, browns and pinks help brown eyes stand out in the most attractive way. Shades lighter than your eyes give your eyes natural look while darker shades will bring your eyes dramatic look. Three tones of eyeshadow are better.

How to apply:

1. Apply light tones eyeshadow from lash to brow. Use neutral eyeshadow.

2. Apply medium-toned eyeshadow in the crease and blend up to the brow bone.

3. Apply dark eyeshadow on outer corner of the eyelid.

4. Apply a bit of white, mother of pearl og a white-shimmery shadow in the inner corners of your eyes, to make them look brighter. If you want to emphasize your brows, apply the same colours under the middle to the outer corner of your brows.

5. Line the wet side of your lower lash line with a white, cream or very soft yellow to open your eyes.

6. Apply mascara on upper and lower lashes.

If you have small eyes like me, I wont recommend lining your upper AND lower lash line with black or any very dark colour. It will make them look smaller. If you do want to line the lower lash line, do it under your lashes (if that makes sense) and with a soft line such as an eyeshadow or smudge your liner.

A friend of mine in Denmark told me sha had a positive experience with a spray-in hair lightener from, I think, Poly Blonde. I thought I would give it a go and bought SunIn's spray with lemon. They don't recommend it for colour treated, recently permed, very dark brown, black or grey hair (no pigments). Dark brown and black hair might turn redish. As I have dark blonde hair I thought my hair would turn blonder, like in the summer time. However, I think it turned redish. Many have noticed that the colour has changed (so that part did work out), but some agreed with me on the blonde with a redish look/shine part. Not really sure how to feel about this. My mom has a very light form of ginger hair and in periodes my hair tend to have a redish shine to it. But still, the instructions on the can told me that only dark hair could turn red. I have used it at least 5 times. Maybe I should keep going on... or maybe I will turn in to Rihanna. Another thing is, that my hair has become very problematic to coam after shower. I blame the spray, but who knows.

This is a rather bad review of H&M's Espresso me. I tried to catch the colour, but I just couldn't get the right one on cam. The colour came out almost black on the pictures, but in real life it's much lighter. What I can say is, that it looks like a medium dark chocolate. I think it's close to Essie's Little Brown Dress. I bought it back in september, so I don't know if H&M still has it. Dark brown is great to give your black winter outfit a little warmth.

Tel Aviv came in 3rd on Lonely Planet's Top 10 List of cities in 2011. Well done Tel Aviv! I really love Tel Aviv. I love the constant change, dynamic, vibes... everything about this city. I just went out to buy something to eat, 2:30 am middle eastern time. The city never sleeps. I wish more people would visit Israel, not too many though, would hate Tel Aviv to end up like so mane other middle terrainian cities. But people should experience this pearl, the friendly people, the food, the nightlife (!), not everything is war and terror here.

My fave mascara

My favorite mascara is actually a drug store mascara. It's Maybeline's Define-a-lash. I prefere the non waterproof as it doesn't make my lashes hard. The head of the applicator is small wish is great for people with short lashes and little space between lid/brow/sucket like me. The bended shape of the applicator gives your lashes a natural curl. It's very easy to build up. The only down side is, that it is very wet when applied, so you might have to remove mascara from the area around you eyes.

Pic: I only applied one fast coat, so it doesn't really do the mascara any justice. I might have to take a better picture when the mascara has been applied properly.

Chanel's Paradoxal

Argh!!!!!! My cousin gave me Chanel's new Paradoxal nail varnish as a good-bye gift. I was trilled, as I normally am a sucker for Chanel's products. Paradoxal's quality turned out to be worse than cheaper brands such as H&M. I applied it in the evening, slept, went to shower in the morning and boom! big parts of the polish on all the nails were gone. What a shame. This shouldn't happen when you pay a great amount of money for the product.

When it comes to the colour itself, I have to say I'm in love. It is difficult to explaine how exactly it looks. In the container it has some kind of perly-metallic purple effect. But on the nails, it looks really dark and mat. But that is just untill you take a closer look- then you'll see small blue and pink particles.

I went to a local drug store before i left Denmark. Among the things I bought was this Giant Sun Powder from Gosh. I normally don't buy Gosh's products, for no other reason than being a sucker for Chanel's products.

Anyway the size of this one made me buy it + it's free of oils, waxes and perfumes. I paid 150 kr. (20 euro). I like the matt surface and the mirror inside. I hate when eye shadows ect. don't have a small mirror inside. The colour is light but richly pigmented. It's basiccaly a matallic gold/bronze shimmer. You will only need to apply a small amount and blend WELL. I do prefer to use this as a high lighter and not an all-over bronzer. And last but not least is this giant piece long lasting.

I went to H&M last week and got a beautiful grey nail varnish. The colour is light grey and goes well with my fall/winter wardrobe. H&M has changed the design of the containers. I like the new ones much better. They look less cheap.

I think they changed the formula. Somehow Miss Stone Heart is easier to apply. It is smooth and thin, but not too thin and it dries fast. It's worth trying their varnishes. If you don't like the colour or texture, you only paid 30 kr. If you love it, well then you got lucky for a few money.

I've been busy the last week as I am moving to Israel next week to study and live with the boyf. It's not easy saying goodbye to beloved friends and family. Finally! Yesterday I received my order from Barry M.

The nail varnish Once Upon A Lifetime disappointed me. It looks really funky in the bottle. But in order to get enough glitter on the nails I had to dap the varnish on or apply 10 coats before the nail was more or less covered- where I need maximum 2 coats with Silver Cascade.

I tried to mix it with Barry M's Bright Purple, but that wasn't pretty.

The Glitter Shaker Pot in Brilliant Silver is amazing! Absolutely love it. You might want to put a napkin under the eye while applying the glitter, cause you litterally get glitter everywhere. I used Maybeline's waterproof Color Definer in 10 Fascination White as a primer, just to have something the glitter could stick to. I find it much easier to control the glitter by dapping it on to the lid. You can use it as a liner or to spice another shadow up (i.ex. fgd #1). I prefere to apply the foundation after the glitter, then it's easier to clean the area around the eyes.

The Dazzle Dust in Old Gold and the Fine Glitter Dust in Grey are a little easier to control, though I still had a lot of glitter on my cheeks after applying. Napkins! If you are wondering waht the difference between the DazzleDusts and Fine Glitter Dusts is, the FGD are much more sparkling/dazzling.

Chanel's Particulière and H&M's Dust and Diamonds

First it was Chanel's wine colored Rouge Noir, that was a must have. Then it was Black Satin. In 2009 you just had to have the green Jade. This year it's the hotly anticipated Particulière 505. Particulière is part of Chanel's spring collection, which features poetic, moody shades, that the company calls "clean, classic neutrals that are infinitely wearable and effortlessly chic."

So the new shade isn't that easy to get your fingers on. Instead I decided to stop by H&M last week. And there I found Dust and Diamonds, that looks like Chanel's new must have color. Since I don't have Chanel's varnish, my cousin Mathilde kindly sent me a picture of her. It was difficult to catch the right shade of the colours, but here're the best we've got.

Essie's Mink Muffs is a couple of tones darker than Chanel's. The best match is H&M's Dust and Diamonds.

I like the colours, the hair, the make-up, the accesories, the way it's filmed as if it was a movie from the 60s. I could go on forever. How I store my make-up.

Okay okay okay I admit it. I have too much make-up. Is it possible to have too much? Or is it just a question of having enough space? Anyway, I got tired of fumbling around my boxes and bags (I have 3 make-up bags, 1 basket and 1 metal box) and decided to look for some kind of drawer-system, that could contain all my make-up. I found the answer in Paris (see picture) or at least I thought I did. I is too small to contain even half of what I have. At least it helped me a bit. I find it much easier to find the make-up that I want.

For now I have blushes in one drawer, foundations/concealers in another, eyeshadows in a third and bronzers in the fourth. But I still have tons of tons left. Oh what a mess! I guess that's what you call a luxury-question.

Oi! What a bargain. I got this dress for only 60 nis (16$)! I found it in a shop in Allenby Street, Tel Aviv. I don't remember teh name of the shop. But if you wanna check the place out, it's on the left site when you come from Sheinkin, in front of a bus stop. It's a small boutique, but I always find something in there.

Make your nail polish last longer

I discovered that using a 4-steps/sides buffer made my nail varnish last longer. Use each of the 4 steps on all your nails untill they are smooth and shiny. It takes no longer than 5 minutes. Then you dust off the "powder" and apply the colour.

I bought my buffer for 10 danish kr. in Tiger. You don't need a fancy one, a cheap version will do the job.

My 3 steps to clean and soft skin

1. Exfoliating Peeling Mask. Rinse your face with water. Take a piece of cotten pad, put a bit of the Exfoliating Peeling Mask on and gently massage onto the wet skin. Avoid eye area. Clean with luke warm water.

2. Mud Purifying Gel. Again, put a bit of the gel on a cotton pad. Massag egently into wet skin with a circular motion. Avoid eye area. Rinse off with luke warm water and dry your face before the next step.

3. Facial Mud Mask. Apply generously onto your face (avoid eye area). I recommend you leave the mud on for at least 20 minutes, not 3 minutes as it says on the back of the tube. Rinse off with cold water. Follow with moisturizing cream.

Oh my! So happy that I'm not one of the stars and idols, cause it seems like all of them die or commit suicide. The late Alexander McQueen was found dead yesterday February 11th in his home in London. The Sun claims he hanged himself, but it hasn't been confirmed by the police. His beloved mother died the 2nd of February and it might be the thing that pulled the tricker. He was a great great talent! The pictures: 1-4: from his ss10 colelction, 5: his famous sull purse, 6: from his fw09/10 collection.

On behalf of Lee McQueen's family, Alexander McQueen today announces the tragic news that Lee McQueen, the founder and designer of the Alexander McQueen brand has been found dead at his home. I said it many times before, but I'll say it again; I L.O.V.E Malene Birger's creations! Every single piece. I love the colours, the fabrics, the accesories and how she mix the different pieces. I think a lot of her clothes is timeless. In some way she resembles Stella McCartney. It's more or less the same colours they use, same shapes etc. She's a favourite of mine too. The only thing I don't like, is the black and white dresses. They are a little to 80ies for my taste. Wow guess it's the first time she made something I didn't like. Anyway, I could go on and on, so let's skip all the small talk and go to the pictures.

Both of the them are from Allenby Street in Tel Aviv. The price was around 10 dollars. I'm sure I could have found them cheaper at Shuk haCarmel across the street, but I was too tired to go to the market. Anyway, they were still cheap and I can afford to change them next month :-D Both of them has purple toned glass. The necklace and earrings are from Shuk haCarmel. Together 10 nis.

My 22nd birthday

It's my birthday! Wuhuu! I'm turning 22 today. My family woke me up with the danish birthday song and then we had breakfast and I had gifts (nailpolish from Barry M and china from Royal Copenhagen).

It's never great weather on my bday. Today it's snowing- and no sun, just grey tones. When I turned 18 four years ago, we had a snow storm and my mom's aunt from Jutland wasn't able to get out of her house!!! The rest of the guests came a later.

I'm alone untill my parents and brother are back from work and school. I think I will pack my suitcase for tomorrow (I'm going to Israel) and do a little shopping. Tonight we are going to the cinema and then to a coffee shop afterwards.
